Josh began his acting career in 2002 with a role in the pilot episode of House Blend. He gained recognition with roles in American Splendor (2003), Bridge to Terabithia (2007), and The Kids Are All Right (2010). His breakout role came as Peeta Mellark in The Hunger Games series (2012–2015). Post-Hunger Games, he starred in Future Man (2017–2020) and voiced Shinjiro Hayata in Netflix's Ultraman (2019–2023). He appeared in Five Nights at Freddy's (2023) and is set to star in The Beekeeper (2024).
